7 reasons to get married in Cornwall

The wedding industry is booming in Cornwall at the moment, and we’re not surprised. More and more couples are choosing to have their special day in the county as they realise how special Cornwall is, or return to their family roots in the Duchy. Everyone has their own reasons for getting married in the South West, but here are just a few extra things to convince you that this is the place to say “I do”.

The beautiful surroundings

Cornwall is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful places in the country. Woodland, beaches, and countryside are all easily found and can provide a stunning backdrop for your wedding. As well as the breath-taking natural surroundings, there are also an abundance of beautiful buildings and historical areas.

One of those places is Launcells Barton. Set amongst acres of countryside, with stunning coastal views, our venue captures the beauty of Cornwall in one location and is also easily accessible from the main routes into the county.

The independent suppliers

Suppliers in Cornwall are some of the most passionate you will ever meet. Working together to create beautiful weddings and events is something we take to heart, and makes sure that your wedding day will be like no other. There are no large corporations that have no personality, just independents who truly care and want to make your day as special as possible with those extra touches.

We work with some wonderful suppliers here at Launcells Barton and are always happy to recommend those that will give you a service that is second to none.

The weather

Cornwall gets up to 1,600 hours of sunshine every year…and that’s almost 200 more than in London! You’ll also find the mildest UK weather here, with winters being less extreme than in many other areas. If you want to increase the chances of glorious sunshine on your big day, then Cornwall is the place for you.

The unique venues

As a county with plenty of character, you won’t be surprised to discover that Cornwall is packed with unique and impressive venues. Just a short walk from Launcells Barton is the Parish Church of St Swithin’s which dates back to the late 15th century. The romantic setting is filled with historic artefacts, adding a unique touch to your day.

Back at Launcells Barton, you’ll find the large Manor House which dates back to the 14th century, alongside a purpose built Events Barn, a newly converted 19th century Mill Barn, and beautiful grounds and countryside.

The serenity

Cornwall isn’t all tourist hot spots; it can also provide peace and quiet for your wedding day. Launcells Barton ensures you have exclusive use of the venue, meaning you can completely relax and enjoy your day with your nearest and dearest without intrusive noise from elsewhere.  With just the sounds of the countyside, you will have a completely undisturbed day.

The unique touches

The people of Cornwall are unique, and we know that our couples are too. That’s why we made our venue to be as flexible and unique as you need and want it to be. Whilst we provide you with everything you’ll need for your wedding day if you need it, we are a blank canvas, so you can make your day truly personal to the both of you.

The sense of community

There is a strong sense of community in Cornwall. The growing wedding community is tight knit, and if someone can’t do something then they will know someone who can! This means that during the planning stages your suppliers will most likely know each other and be able to collaborate, making your day a lot less stressful.
