There was something effortlessly beautiful about Gemma & Chris’s July wedding at Launcells Barton. Laid-back, elegant and timeless, their day was filled with thoughtful details, beautiful summer florals and plenty of time spent simply enjoying being together with the people they love.

Gemma and her bridesmaids got ready in the Manor House, surrounded by the excitement and anticipation of the morning. With everyone together in the house, there was a wonderful sense of occasion as they prepared for the celebrations ahead.

Gemma and Chris chose to say their vows outdoors in our Walled Garden, surrounded by the beautiful Cornish countryside. The ceremony was full of colour, with stone vases overflowing with vibrant, abundant flowers adding a wonderfully romantic feel to the garden. Against the historic setting, the bright summer blooms created a beautiful contrast and brought the whole space to life.

After the ceremony, guests gathered for welcome drinks, taking the opportunity to mingle, catch up and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere while Gemma and Chris celebrated their newlywed moment. Our partner caterers, Fig & Smoke, took care of the food, bringing their relaxed and generous style of dining to the celebrations. The day continued with good food, plenty of conversation and the kind of easy-going atmosphere that made everyone feel completely at home.

As guests made their way through to the Reception Barn for their wedding breakfast, Gemma and Chris stole a little time together. It was a chance to step away from the celebrations for a moment, take everything in and enjoy some quiet time as newlyweds before joining their guests.

After the speeches and wedding breakfast, Gemma and Chris and their guests headed outside to soak up the last of the day’s sunshine. With plenty of time for a few more drinks, catching up and enjoying the evening together, it was the perfect way to make the most of the sunshine before heading back inside to cut the cake and get ready for their first dance.

What made Gemma and Chris’s wedding so special was how naturally everything came together. Nothing felt overly formal or staged; instead, the whole day had a sense of understated elegance that reflected them perfectly. It was such a pleasure for us to get to know them throughout their time with us, and we loved being part of their wedding day and seeing all those plans and little details come together. It was a real privilege to share such an important moment with them.
We wish Gemma and Chris a lifetime of happiness together and hope they look back on their beautiful July wedding with the fondest memories for years to come.
A few words from Gemma-“From start to finish the wedding weekend was better than we could have ever imagined. The venue spoke for itself, absolutely beautiful and the day was exactly how we pictured it being. So many of our guests said how amazing Launcells Barton was, and also how lovely the staff were. Everything felt seamless and that was most definitely all down to their incredible planning and experience. It was Jess’s first time manning a wedding on her own, and we wouldn’t have been able to tell if we weren’t told that. From the second we arrived she was there waiting to help us with anything we needed. I honestly couldn’t recommend Launcels Barton more, if you want your dream to become a reality look no further!! So happy we found you and Launcells will always hold a very special place in our hearts!”
