“The last 6 weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind and I just wanted to send an email to say quite how magical we felt after our wedding at Launcells in July.
Every second of the weekend was absolutely perfect, and that’s all thanks to you guys and your wonderful team. From arriving on Friday up until we left on Sunday, we felt reassured, calm, and didn’t have anything to worry about because of the trust you made us feel.
I’ve been a bridesmaid quite a few times, and other wedding venues don’t come close to what you guys do and how seamless and relaxed you manage to make the whole thing feel.
We’ve also had so many guests comment on how beautiful the venue was, especially the walled garden (the pink hydrangeas have made many an appearance on Instagram!”

“We got married at Launcells in April and it could not have been more perfect! The venue is absolutely stunning, we really didn’t need to dress it much at all as it speaks for itself! So many guests told us it was the nicest venue they had been to!
The staff were absolutely fantastic in the run up, answering any queries and setting up a Trello baord to help up stay organised, as well as on the day where everything ran absolutely seamlessly. We ended up deciding to have our reception drinks and music inside on the day due to the wind and a guest commented that they ‘didn’t even notice the ceremony barn becoming the drinks reception’, thanks to how great all the staff were. This also happened when our tables got shifted to make space for the dancefloor. We felt so lucky to also have use of the manor house for our stay which was lovely. We will treasure our memories and photos forever and couldn’t recommend Launcells Barton more!”

“We cannot get over how incredible our wedding at Launcells was. We fell in love with the venue as soon as we saw it – there are so many beautiful areas both outside and inside as well as the stunning manor house which is included for the bridal party to stay in for two nights.
The team are super organised and our day ran completely seamlessly, communication was fantastic throughout the planning process and everything is organised in a way that ensures no details – big or small – can be forgotten. One of the things we loved about the venue was that the outdoor and indoor ceremony areas are equally as beautiful as each other. We were lucky with the weather and were able to get married in the stunning walled garden but the indoor mill barn is just as beautiful, which really took the stress out of not knowing what the Cornish weather would do! Having access to the whole venue from the day before until midday the day after was also a huge bonus which we wouldn’t have even considered before we started planning. It gave us and our suppliers plenty of time to get things set up as well as doing a practice run for the ceremony itself. We also loved that the venue is a blank canvas and it is ultimately your choice what you do with the day – suppliers are recommended but you are not limited to just one set caterer for example, which we found with a lot of other venues. An added bonus is that the grounds are so beautiful that you don’t need to spend too much on decoration – unless of course you want to! The location of Launcells is also great – the venue is very secluded and rural but less than 10 minutes to Bude by car, which gives your guests loads of accommodation options to suit different needs and budgets.
A final highlight was our evening tractor ride, which ended up being one of our favourite parts of the day! It’s a great opportunity to have some time just as a couple, as well as to get some stunning photos looking out on to the fields and sea. Launcells is a truly special venue and we are so, so happy we decided to book it for our wedding!!”

“The most perfect Cornish venue to celebrate our August wedding. We knew when Lara first showed us around that it had to be Launcells! From the very beginning, we felt looked after by the team and their communication and attention to detail throughout was outstanding. They were always so welcoming and there to answer any questions, as well as providing lots of helpful information and advice throughout our wedding journey.
The setting of the venue is something super special and all of our guests were blown away, with not only all of the incredible spaces but the whole feel and homeliness of it all. We were fortunate enough to have an outdoor ceremony in the beautiful and intimate walled garden, which ended up being one of our favourite parts (along with the tractor ride – such a unique experience), making for amazing photos! The reception barn was stunning on its own, but we loved that we were able to put our stamp on it with our own decor and bring our vision to life. The Manor House was another beautiful feature and there was plenty of space to get ready in the morning. The exclusive use of the venue for the whole weekend made for such a memorable time with our closest family who were able to stay onsite.
A special mention to the wonderful Ellie who supported us in the lead up and was so much more than a coordinator on the day, but an absolute joy to have around and share it with. Everything ran smoothly and was very professional so we didn’t have to worry about a thing – we are so grateful for all the time and dedication put into ensuring we had the perfect day. We felt so lucky to be surrounded by all of our closest family and friends as we became Husband and Wife in the most beautiful of settings. “We could not recommend Launcells Barton more. From start to finish, it was simply the best venue we could have asked for. Not only is the venue itself absolutely stunning and perfectly laid out for any wedding celebrations (come rain or shine!), but Lara and the LB team provide an impeccable service in helping you to co-ordinate and organise the big day. They are highly experienced in organising weddings and were really able to guide us in delivering our vision (from recommending excellent and local suppliers, to politely pointing out that our initial timings were never going to work!). With their help, we managed to fit everything (and everybody (!) – we were a very big wedding) into our celebrations and I think every guest commented on how wonderful the venue was. Plus the staff serving and attending the bar on the day were super friendly and professional. We honestly couldn’t be happier that we chose LB for our wedding.”

“From the minute we set eyes on Launcells Barton, we knew that we were going to get married there. Bude and Widemouth Bay have a special place in both mine and my husband’s hearts, so when we found a place that ticked every single box (and other boxes we didn’t knew existed!!) in the most perfect location, we knew it was meant to be. The fact that St Swithin’s Church was located next door to the venue made it even more perfect, as it meant a lot to us to get married in a church.
From start to finish, Lara, Maddie and the rest of the Launcells Barton team went above and beyond to make sure we had the perfect day. These guys are pros to say the least! No question was too big or too small and no problem was too hard to fix. All of their recommended suppliers we used were beyond exceptional and Bude is so lucky to have so much talent in the wedding industry. The communication throughout was excellent and every little hint and tip from Lara and co was invaluable and made for a very smooth day.
On the day itself, we had so many comments about the friendly, efficient staff and the amazing venue. Because of the seamless organisation and on the day coordination, both myself and my husband felt we could really enjoy the day and spend time with our guests! But the best part was that it felt like Lara & Maddie were our own guests and friends, which I think says it all! “As cliche as it sounds, our day could not have been any more perfect. We woke up to beautiful sunshine and at points there wasn’t a cloud in the sky – it felt too good to be true! Launcells Barton looks incredible come rain or shine but the fact it was warm and dry meant we could really utilise all of the outdoor areas. Although saying that we did actually choose to get married inside the barn as it was just too gorgeous not to!
Everything went exactly to plan which was a huge credit to the LB team who helped us organise the day. Our suppliers were absolutely amazing too, from the caterers and florists to the DJ and photographer. One of our favourite parts of the wedding experience had to be the tractor ride to the field where we could see the sea and watched the sun go down. It was so nice to enjoy some time to ourselves and take in the events of the day. If I had to have my wedding again, I honestly wouldn’t change a minute of it!”

“From the moment we stepped out of the car we knew it was the place for us. What sealed the deal was when we met Lara who was so friendly, organised and helpful. It was clear she loved what she does and that we were in safe hands.
Questions we had were answered without the need to ask them. We booked our wedding between pandemics. Seeing how much Lara and the Launcells team cared about their couples weddings, their venue and the industry through their tireless campaigning just cemented further that we had made a great choice and this was a venue that really cared and would go the extra mile.
Due to covid we had a much longer engagement than we would have liked but it made the day even more special once it came round. Lara and Maddie were brilliant both in the run up and on the day. They were always responsive and were really helpful. Maddie in particular went the extra mile to help my mother in law with the delivery of three silver birch trees the week before the wedding that the supplier suddenly refused to deliver on a Friday. They were both present on the day and took care of everything. We were both able to switch off and enjoy the day knowing that everything was taken care of. Not easy for an event planner and someone who used to have their own wedding catering business to do, but a real testament to the Launcells team and all of our fab suppliers that day.
So many of our guests commented on what a fantastic venue it was. They loved that there was a flow and that different parts of the day were in different spaces and did not all take place in the one spot. Guests were never broken up due to the experienced Launcells team only keeping one bar open at a time. We even had people asking for Launcells details after the wedding for their son’s wedding it made that much of an impression. A huge thank you to Lara and the team for letting us use your stunning venue and grounds and for all of your help, hard work and support. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them.”

“Our wedding at Launcells Barton exceeded our wildest dreams. We were one of the 2020 weddings which had to be postponed, and when we finally got to celebrate two years later, in July 2022, Covid was still present, making it impossible for a number of our guests to attend. After a flurry of last minute cancellations and travel mayhem for some of our closest family members from abroad, some of whom didn’t make it, we were just so grateful for the guests who did. What ensued was simply MAGIC! The sun peeked out of the clouds just as Nadia stepped out onto the aisle with her father. This set the tone for the rest of the day, which was absolute perfection – from the welcome drinks to the wedding breakfast via the garden games through to our first dance and our band absolutely killing it! Many of our guests – old and young – said it was hands down the best wedding they’d been to! We feel so lucky that it was ours.
The day truly was magical, but we are well aware of the hard work, passion, commitment it takes to make that sort of magic happen and that was all down to Lara, Matt, Maddie and their incredible team. From our very first visit to our final hours there, we felt wholeheartedly welcome and looked after, the opposite of just another couple to marry. Their rapport to us was personal, authentic, full of genuine care and concern, especially throughout the pandemic and the challenges it kept throwing our way. Steeped in history, beautiful inside and out, the venue is an absolute dream, but what truly makes it are the people who run it with so much professionalism and even more heart. We will never forget our time there and are immensely grateful for it. “

“As we live in Liverpool and had our friends and family travel down to Cornwall everyone was able to have a mini holiday and bask in the beautiful sunshine and surroundings at launcells Barton! Being able to spend the night before at the Manor House with my bridesmaids, flower girls and mum was absolutely magical! Throughout the night we all had to pinch ourselves on how beautiful it was, waking up together with the Prosecco following whilst getting ready was just perfect and will be the happiest morning of my life!
Everything at launcells was amazing- one of the highlights for me and sam was being able to sneak off on the tractor and not only get some amazing pictures but grab some time just the two of us! We really wanted everyone including our flower girls and page boys to have the best day and the surroundings /grounds at launcells meant everyone could spill out on to the fields and enjoy themselves!”

“As soon as we visited Launcells Barton we knew we wanted to get married there. The venue itself is absolutely stunning – both barns, the courtyard, and the gardens are so beautiful and we particularly loved that guests would move around all the different spaces throughout the wedding day.
At most venues with wet weather options, there is one that is clearly a second choice, but at Launcells Barton all areas are just as stunning as the next. Also the fact that we could stay at the stunning house at the venue made it feel like a weekend long celebration.
I would honestly say that the most important thing when planning a wedding is working with suppliers and teams that you trust. After meeting Lara, and subsequently Maddy, at pre-wedding meetings I had no doubt that the wedding was going to be amazing as they so clearly knew exactly what they were doing. There are so many things to have to remember when planning and leading up to a wedding, but the system that Launcells Barton have in place made it so easy to make sure that everything was thought through. The team were always on hand to respond to queries and help with all aspects of planning.”

The venue is just beautiful with stunning locations whether it’s pouring with rain or streaming in sunshine. We had looked at a number of venues and nothing else came close. “Everything happens for a reason’ is a stance I truly believe in and live by, and no more so than having your wedding postponed during a pandemic – a situation thousands of us had to sadly experience during 2020. Both couples and suppliers truly suffered emotionally and financially, however when you work together as a team and fill this undeniably difficult process with understanding from both sides of the equation, then it only leads to amazing things in the future. It definitely did for us, and Lara ensured that the process to move to a 2021 date that suited us both was smooth.
I will never forget that crisp Autumnal day in October 2018 driving up the winding roads to Launcells – the first and only venue we looked at. It was breath taking and immediately we fell in love with everything about it. Meeting Lara sealed the deal for us – she was funny, kind, knowledgeable and understanding. She made us feel totally relaxed and we could envisage our wedding taking place at this extraordinary venue. The exclusivity of it was also a huge selling point to us – being able to really make it our home over the 2-3 days and having our wedding party stay with us in the most magnificent period house.
Those 3 days in July 2021 at Launcells Barton were the best days of my life so far and we do have to thank newest Launcells member on the block, Maddie, for being so diligent, calm and collected and helping to make some quick decisions based on the slightly temperamental weather. We feel very honoured to be Maddie’s first solo wedding, and she really did an outstanding job. Thank you! Every part of our day played out better than expected – and this was smoothly executed by Maddie & the Launcells team working during the wedding. They were professional, good humoured and had a smile on their face all day. We can’t thank them enough for all their organisation, love and support since that first meeting in 2018. We cannot recommend Lara, Matt, Maddie & the team highly enough.”

“Our wedding day was just incredible! The Launcells team looked after us so well and we can’t thank them enough. We were originally getting married in 2020 but had to postpone due to COVID. Lara and Maddie made this process completely seamless, even during what was a hard time for their business. We planned our wedding from Scotland which had its challenges but once again Lara and Maddie were wonderfully helpful. We’re incredibly grateful for all their support in making our day so special.
We and our guests were made to feel so welcome and felt at home in the beautiful house and grounds. Having access to the barns to set everything up the afternoon before and to stay in the Manor House were fantastic features of the Launcells wedding package that helped take a lot of stress out of the preparation.
On the day we were taken care of so well, the whole team looked after us and our guests with graceful professionalism. Our guests couldn’t have praised the team and venue any more for the experience they helped create on the big day. Our wedding day was exactly as we imagined as we and our guests were able to relax, enjoy ourselves and have so much fun dancing the night away.

“We aren’t from Cornwall, but have loved it for a long time and knew as soon as we got engaged that we wanted to marry there. We live a 6 hour drive away in Essex so when we came to look at Wedding venues we saw 10 in a week. Some we had really high hopes for and others, including Launcells, were ones that we had seen online and though we may as well check out whilst down there.
Launcells looked lovely online and we were excited to go visit but it wasn’t on our definitely list (for some strange reason) – but when we got there it just won us over. The pictures, as beautiful as they are, just don’t do it justice. We can’t quite put our finger on it, but Launcells is just magic, it had our hearts from our first visit. We got back in the car afterwards and both said – WOW – that was incredible. For the rest of our trip, going to the venues we had our hearts set on just didn’t measure up, we found ourselves comparing every other venue to Launcells.
The atmosphere is warm and homely whilst also being luxurious and honestly just everything you could ever want from a Wedding venue. Everyone we dealt with were just SO kind and helpful, during what was an awful time for everyone.
The day we actually got married in 2020 with just a few family and friends was so wonderful, we hired the venue for just 2 hours so that we could have the ceremony and some bubbles & photos afterwards and somehow in that very short window of time Lara made it so special for us. There was no décor, no flowers, no ‘fluff’ but we realised you don’t need it in such a gorgeous setting. After that we were just super excited to have our ‘Big’ day there the following year with the rest of our family and friends. And when we finally got to experience Launcells how Lara & Matt intended it, it was just amazing. All the little touches in the house made such a difference and brought it up to another level entirely.

“When we began our wedding planning in 2018, Launcells Barton was our wild card wedding venue. When visiting, it took less than 30 seconds to fall in love with the place and imagine getting married there. We both instantly wanted to book! It is absolutely beautiful in all weathers and the opportunity to put your stamp on every aspect of your day greatly appealed to us.
During the pandemic with the restrictions, we made the decision to marry on our original date in 2020 with just the two of us. Lara, Matt and daughter Sophia, incredibly, came to witness our marriage and cracked a bottle of bubbly and ate cake with us too! It was the most perfect, relaxed, day, made even better that we were safe in the knowledge that we were able to return in 2021 for a celebration with family and friends. The beauty of Launcells is that it works perfectly for both an intimate ceremony and a bigger event without feeling like you have to compromise in either situation.
In 2021 we had the full Launcells experience! Not a tiny detail was missed by the team and the whole venue (house, barns, gardens) were immaculate and oozing a sense of luxury. All our guests had a great time, with comments on how amazing the team were and how smooth the day ran.
For us, the best thing about Launcells is that you have a couple of days with family and friends rather than one day so your wedding ‘day’ is really an extended event. We absolutely loved setting up the venue the day before with our bridal teams, everything from putting up our own lights to having ago at flower arrangements!
Lara, Matt, Maddie and the whole team are fantastic, they made us feel at home as they guided us throughout the wedding planning process, even supporting our wacky seaside pier theme for our wedding breakfast! We couldn’t have had a better two weddings if we’d tried”

“What can we say… booking a venue which wasn’t yet built, in a town we’d never been to seems like a crazy idea when we think back. But putting our faith in Matt and Lara was the best decision. The whole planning process was a breeze with Lara on hand to answer all our questions.
When we finally saw the venue, three days before the big day…despite the fog, we could tell it was as beautiful as the Skype videos we’d seen. The house is amazing, with more than enough space for a full bridal party. The walled garden was the perfect spot for an outdoor ceremony; a real sun trap which literally smells of roses! And the barn and grounds which provided so many areas for our guests to enjoy.
We had the most amazing wedding and mini adventure in Bude, thanks team Launcells! So nice that we both feel like old friends rather than supplier and client. Sure you guys don’t fancy a trip over to Melbourne!? x”

“Dan and I first visited Launcells Barton on a rainy January afternoon and were immediately taken with Lara and Matt’s enthusiasm and the sheer beauty of the venue. We knew it was the perfect venue for the relaxed feel we wanted but also enough of a blank canvas that we could make it our own. All the time, money and effort planning was completely worth it on the day – despite having an uninvited guest in the form of ‘Storm Brian’ with his gale force winds and driving rain…! Luckily Launcells Barton proved the perfect choice and the weather was soon forgotten as the beauty of the venue is as much about its interior as its exterior – a quality we had struggled to find at other venues. Lara & Matt supported us through the day perfectly! One thing that was really important to me was that the evening had a good ‘flow, I really wanted to avoid a venue where guests were segregated into different rooms depending on whether they were at the bar, relaxing or dancing and the main barn was perfect for this.

“I’m struggling with where to start, because it’s so difficult to put into words just how wonderful our day was. From the moment we met Lara and looked around the venue, there was no question that we were going to get married there. It really is a hidden gem.
You’d think that only giving ourselves 4 months to plan our wedding would be stressful. But, I can honestly say that I enjoyed every second of the organisation. Communication between ourselves and Lara was excellent and any questions we had were promptly answered.
The day itself was just perfect. Being a December wedding we almost expected bad weather. Every part of our day was inside or undercover so, rain or shine, it really didn’t matter. There isn’t one thing I would change about our special day, and so much of that comes down to the venue and incredible atmosphere set by Matt, Lara, and the team at Launcells. Launcells Barton has something a little magical about it – as soon as we visited we soon knew it was the one for us. Launcells Barton ticked all of the boxes in terms of a location for our wedding. How many places can say you’re near the sea but still surrounded by beautifully unspoilt and wooded Cornish countryside? We’d always wanted to get married in a church, so the proximity to one of the prettiest in Cornwall was an added bonus to the stunning manor house and countryside location.

“We got engaged near Bude and had this romantic idea about having our wedding nearby, forcing our friends and family to trek from afar down to the Cornish coast. After looking at six or seven venues, none quite hitting the mark – all too ‘weddingy’ – we stumbled upon Launcell’s for our last appointment before giving up and resigning to a venue closer to home.
We didn’t make it out the car before we made our minds up; it was perfect. Rustic but not too rustic, wedding appropriate but not just another ‘wedding barn’, secluded without being too remote.
