Last September Alexa and Harry had one of the most happy, love filled and fun weddings that we’ve ever seen! Their love for each other and all of their friends and family was abundant all day and for us, it was like working with friends! Everyone was so warm, welcoming and friendly that when we were pulled in to join in with the Greek Dancing, we did not hesitate!! Thankfully there is no photo evidence!
While Alexa got ready in the house surrounded by all her family and friends, Harry popped off for a dip in the sea and a full fry up to set him up for the day!
After grabbing a drink at the snug bar and saying their “hello’s” Harry, his Groomsmen and all their guests made their way down to the church to wait for the Bride!
Alexa looked beautiful in a lace detailed A-line, accompanied by her Bridesmaids in perfectly Autumnal burnt orange gowns and colourful blooms.
After the ceremony the Launcells team organised all their guests at the front of the house for confetti, before ushering everyone into the Courtyard for Welcome Drinks & Canapés.
Guests were then asked to take their seats in the Reception Barn for the wedding breakfast, while Alexa and Harry took some time for photos.
Alexa, Harry and their wonderful local suppliers styled the Reception Barn beautifully the day before, with hanging foliage and bursts of Autumnal colour on the tables.
After the meal and speeches had “rapped up” guests headed out for garden games on the lawn while their band set up!
Then it was time for their evening party to begin…. and what a party it was!! Choreographed first dance, traditional Greek dancing and a hilarious surprise from the Groomsmen!
A Few words from the Bride– From the minute we set eyes on Launcells Barton, we knew that we were going to get married there. Bude and Widemouth Bay have a special place in both mine and my husband’s hearts, so when we found a place that ticked every single box (and other boxes we didn’t know existed!!) in the most perfect location, we knew it was meant to be. The fact that St Swithin’s Church was located next door to the venue made it even more perfect, as it meant a lot to us to get married in a church.
From start to finish, Lara, Maddie and the rest of the Launcells Barton team went above and beyond to make sure we had the perfect day. These guys are pros to say the least! No question was too big or too small and no problem was too hard to fix. All of their recommended suppliers we used were beyond exceptional and Bude is so lucky to have so much talent in the wedding industry. The communication throughout was excellent and every little hint and tip from Lara and co was invaluable and made for a very smooth day.
On the day itself, we had so many comments about the friendly, efficient staff and the amazing venue. Because of the seamless organisation and on the day coordination, both myself and my husband felt we could really enjoy the day and spend time with our guests! But the best part was that it felt like Lara & Maddie were our own guests and friends, which I think says it all! Thank you for giving us the best day of our lives and creating a day far beyond our wildest dreams!!!!
Alexa and Harry it was an absolute pleasure getting to know you! From first visit through to waving you both off after your wedding, you felt instantly like part of the Launcells family! We loved seeing the Greek influences brought into your day and it was clear to us all here, just how much love, support and care you have surrounding you! We wish you nothing but happiness as you step into married life!
