If you’ve set your heart on a wedding day in Cornwall we can definitely understand why; peaceful, romantic, picturesque – there are a million reasons to have your special day in the Duchy, but could it be that you fall in love with our little part of the world so much that you’d like to see and experience more as part of your Mini-moon?

If you’re considering spending time exploring everything Cornwall has to offer after your ceremony, here are just a few things you could get up to as a newly married couple!

Watch a play at an open air theatre

How many opportunities will you have to watch an open air theatre whilst perched atop a cliff high above the Atlantic Ocean, with panoramic views of the stunning Porthcurnow Bay? Chances like this don’t come often, so if you’re in Cornwall with your partner, the historic Minack Theatre should definitely be on the to-do list.

Pack a bottle of champagne, a blanket and enjoy the performance together.

Secluded sunsets

Whilst we’re fortunate to have amazing beaches near our wedding venue, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to Cornwall. Widemouth Bay is less than 10 minutes from our door and a great beach to sit, walk your dogs or enjoy the the coast path.

If you’re headed further afield then consider Porthkidney Sands, a blissful and secluded beach nestled between Hayle and St Ives in West Cornwall. You should find that you only come across a couple of locals, if that, making it the perfect spot to get away from it all.

Treat yourselves to total relaxation

Wanting to relax, unwind and really get away from it all after those months of wedding planning? If you’re both in need of some pampering and wanting to head to a spa during your time in Cornwall then there are plenty of fantastic choices – from swimming pools with sea views, to hot tubs on coastal cliffs, you’ll be able to relax in inspirational style.

Enjoy an intimate meal by the ocean

An absolute must whilst Mini-mooning in this part of the world is making the most of being by the breathtaking coastline. Why not couple incredible views with enjoying some of Cornwall’s finest cuisine by booking yourselves into a restaurant by the sea? Be sure to mention when you book that you are just married, to guarantee a more private table where you can enjoy each other’s company.

A couples cycle ride

The Camel Trail is a beautifully wooded cycle route which starts at the pretty fishing town of Padstow, famous for Rick Stein’s fish and chips. A popular path leads you to the famous Camel Valley Vineyard. Sitting on their terrace sipping Camel Valley bubbly on a summer’s afternoon is said to be magical.

Visit an art gallery

Cornwall is awash with fantastic art galleries, boasting something to satisfy all tastes. If you are close to St Ives you’ll be spoilt for choice with The Tate, Porthminster Gallery and New Craftsman. There’s no dress code, so don’t be afraid to get dressed up for the occasion! Try to pick somewhere you’ve both never been before – it’s much more fun when the experience is new to both of you.
