Fun-filled spring wedding full of of laughter and ice cream in Cornwall!

Back in April Duncan and Tor celebrated becoming man and wife surrounded by friends and family on a gorgeous Spring day! They first met nearly 7 years ago when Duncan popped into Tor’s family Ice Cream shop in Bude and they quickly hit it off. It wasn’t long before the couple became inseparable.

Shortly after booking their wedding with us, Duncan and Tor relocated to Yorkshire for work and were supported, with planning their day from afar,by all their friends and family who live close by.

Duncan got ready for the big day at his parents house not too far away, while Tor and her friends and family got ready at Launcells Barton.

Tor looked absolutely gorgeous in a lace fishtail dress, adding a simple full length veil for the finishing touch!

Tor and her Dad headed to Stratton church in style in a vintage Bentley convertible. Although I couldn’t be there as I was getting everything ready for the couple and their guests welcome drinks arrival, I was told by everyone that attended what a wonderful and personal service it was!

Duncan and Tor then drove back to Launcells Barton, where all their friends and family were waiting to welcome them in the Courtyard with a glass of fizz in their hand!

The happy couple then mingled with guests before heading off for family photos in the Walled Garden.

Knowing his Bride so well, Duncan surprised Tor with a Bouncy Castle for their Drinks Reception! It went down extremely well and everyone was jumping around having a fantastic time!!

As we announced guests to take their seats in the Reception Barn, Duncan and Tor popped off for a few photos by themselves while everyone got settled.

Duncan and Tor decorated the Reception Barn beautifully with paper lanterns, fairy lights and greenery hanging from the beams, while the tables were full of greenery and candles.

Following the Wedding Breakfast, by Devon Catering and the speeches and toasts had been celebrated,  Duncan and Tor added a very personal and clever way of making sure they got to speak to every one of their guests – as they met over Ice Cream all those years ago, they decided to serve it as dessert, but serve it themselves!

While everyone grabbed a drink in the bar after Duncan and Tor had made sure that all had  had their fill of ice cream, their Band, The Busketeers, set up and Duncan and Tor slipped off to catch a rather spectacular view on a gorgeous Spring day!

Wild Bake set up outside the bar serving delicious pizzas from their trailer, making sure no one ran out of steam and could party the night away… which they definitely did!!

A few words from the Bride herself ” We only visited one venue because we knew that Launcells was the one, it offered that country elegance that we wanted whilst providing the flexibility of so many indoor and outdoor areas to use for all of the personal touches like the ice cream station and pizza van. The grounds provided the perfect setting for our photos and catered for the surprise bouncy castle which was just the BEST THING EVER. Launcells was the dream venue and the staff really helped make everything flow effortlessly, we had such a gorgeous stress-free day! Absolutely everything went to plan and we just wish we could do it all over again because its true what they say, it really is over before you know it.Tor

These gorgeous photos are all thanks to Alex Toze who captured Duncan & Tor’s special day for them, I think we can all agree that his natural approach, is simply stunning!

” This is why I love what I do. The most fun, friendly and welcoming people you could meet. And I get to capture one of the most important days of their lives in the most beautiful of settings. Duncan and Tor planned their wedding day to perfection and when you have a couple to work with like this, at a venue such as Launcells Barton, it makes it so easy, fun and enjoyable to capture the magic. Launcells has so much to offer, a photographers dream, I can’t wait to come back” Alex Toze

Congratulations to Duncan and Tor, we hope you have a lifetime of happiness as you settle into your new lives as man and wife in Yorkshire, I’m sure it won’t be long until you are back by the sea visiting friends and family!
